1. What is the slope of provided to a stair case?
Ans: According to the IS 456, a slope of 25° to 40° is provided.
2. Full form of 1BHK, 2BHK, 3BHK?
Ans: 1BHK- 1 Bed room, 1 Hall, and 1 Kitchen
2BHK - 2 Bed room, 1 Hall and 1 Kitchen

Ans: Initial Setting Time for concrete is 30 min, and final setting time for concrete is 90 min.
15. What are the effective method of curing concrete?
Ans: Spraying: To spray water on the concrete with a pipe.
Wet Covering on the surface of the concrete: This method is widely used as some some wet covering (like sacs) are used to curing of concrete.
Ponding: It is a widely used method and this method is possible mainly for curing of slabs (horizontal concrete structure) and a certain area is flooded with water and kept at least for 14 days.
Chemical Curing: In areas, where there is a shortage of water and we cannot use much water for curing then this method of curing is used. In this method some chemicals is used for curing.
Steam Curing: This method is used in cold weather region where there is a requirement of early strength in concrete.
Sprinkling Curing: This is a awesome method of curing. In this method water is given to the concrete structure with a sprinkler. This method is very good as it not only it saves water but also it does not give any chance so that the concrete may dry.
16. What is Bleeding?
Ans: Bleeding is a form of segregation in which water comes out above the concrete surface.
17. Where is the tension and compression zone in case of a cantilever beam?
Ans: In a normal Beam the compression zone is in the upper portion of the beam and tension zone is in the lower portion of the beam that is why the hooks in the stirrup is provided in the upper portion.
But, in case of a cantilever beam, the compression zone is located in the lower portion of beam and the tension zone is in the upper portion of the beam. That is why hooks in the stirrups should be provided in lower portion in beam.
18. What is the function of stirrups provided in beams?
Ans: The function of the stirrups provided in beams is to resist the shear force. And to keep the bars of the beams in position.
19.What is the condition when we would opt for pile foundation?
Ans: Pile foundation is used when the bearing capacity of soil less than 24 KN/m3
20. What is the standard height of each floor?
Ans: The standard height of each floor is 3m.
21. What is Guinting?
Ans: It is a process of repairing a concrete work. It is a process in which a mixture of cement and sand in a proportion of 1:3 is shooted on the concrete surface with a pressure of 2 to 3 kg/cm2.
22. What is flashing?
Ans: Flashing is a covering or structure that is constructed in a place where there is a possibility that water may enter in the structure. Generally it is constructed to give protection to joints from water penetration. Flashing it is constructed at the intersection points of roofs, walls, parapets.
23. What is the ratio of M15, M20, M25 concrete grade?
Ans: M15 – 1:2:4
M20 – 1:1.5:3
M25 – 1:1:2
24. What is the reason that steel is given a circular shape?
Ans: The circular shape steel bar can perform the stress distribution in very efficient manner and the stress is distributed uniformly throughout the area. If the steel bar is triangular or quadrilateral than the stress lies on the sharp edge that would cause the failure of the structure.
25. In Fe-415 steel grade, what does 415 indicate?
Ans: It indicates the tensile strength of the steel and that is 415 N/mm2
